City Power Co-generation -- Project 110

110 Progress Avenue Project

City Power Co-gen is proposing to construct, own and operate an approximately 140 megawatt (MW) high efficiency cogeneration facility in Scarborough, Ontario. The proposed site encompasses an area of approximately 1.6 hectares (4 acres) and is located in an industrial area at the northwest corner of Progress Avenue and Midland Avenue, just south of Highway 401.

The co-generation facility will utilize clean burning natural gas to provide electrical power to the Province of Ontario and steam to the two existing Atlantic Packaging paper mills (Note: one mill is affiliated to Atlantic) and each mill is located on Progress Avenue. The electrical connection to the main Hydro One system to the south of Lawrence Avenue will be via a new underground transmission line constructed along Midland Avenue.
