City Power Co-Gen is exploring the development
of a high efficiency co-generation facility in Scarborough, Ontario
to provide approximately 140 megawatts of power to the Ontario electricity
grid and steam to the Atlantic Packaging paper mills at 111 and 333
Progress Avenue.
- This project is being developed in
response to the Ontario Power Authority’s Request for Proposals
(“RFP”) from power producers to provide up to 300 megawatts of
high efficiency combined heat and power projects across Ontario
- The RFP supports the government’s
commitment to replace existing coal-fired generation and helps the
government’s goal of cleaner electricity generation
- The proposed new co-generation facility
would ensure a reliable, sustainable and diverse supply of competitively
priced power for the people of Ontario
